Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

ChronoSleep (chronosleep.app) is run by a private individual based in North Macedonia, who is the data controller for the processing described here. For anything about your data, email chronosleep.app@gmail.com.

We follow North Macedonia's Law on Personal Data Protection, which is aligned with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the GDPR and UK GDPR where they apply to visitors from the EU and UK.

2. What we collect, why, and on what basis

Taking the quiz

Your answers are scored in your browser. Only your result's match score is kept, in your browser's session storage, so the result page can show it; it's deleted when you close the tab. Nothing about your answers is sent to us or anyone else.

Visiting the site (hosting and analytics)

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers receive technical data with each request, such as your IP address, browser and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see how the site is used and how fast it loads. They don't use cookies. Vercel records page views with the page, referring site, approximate location (country and region), browser, operating system and device type. Visitors are counted using a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, so we only ever see aggregated numbers, never individual people.

Contacting us

If you use the form on the FAQ page, your name, email address and message are sent through Formspree, which forwards them to our inbox. If you email us directly, your message is handled by Google (Gmail). We use your details only to reply, and delete messages within 12 months unless an ongoing conversation needs them.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your message, or steps you've asked us to take before a purchase.

Buying a guide or tracker

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: it processes your payment, collects sales tax and emails you your download. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, payment details and billing country or address under its own privacy policy. We never see your full card details. We receive your name, email address, what you bought and your country, so we can deliver the product and help if something goes wrong. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Arriving through a partner (affiliate) link

Some people link to ChronoSleep through our affiliate program. If you arrive through one of those links, we ask before doing anything. Only if you choose "Allow" do we load Lemon Squeezy's affiliate script, which stores an anonymous referral identifier on your device for up to 30 days, so the partner gets credit if you buy. If you choose "No thanks", or arrive any other way, the script isn't loaded at all.

3. Cookies and browser storage

By default, ChronoSleep sets no cookies. What may be stored on your device:

• Quiz match score (session storage): shows your result; deleted when you close the tab.
• Your referral cookie choice (local storage): remembers whether you said yes or no, so we don't ask again.
• Light or dark mode (local storage): remembers which look you picked.
• Partner referral identifier (set by Lemon Squeezy): only if you clicked "Allow" after arriving through a partner link; up to 30 days.

4. Who processes data for us

• Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting, analytics and performance monitoring. Privacy policy
• Formspree, Inc. (USA): delivers contact form messages. Privacy policy
• Lemon Squeezy: checkout, payments, tax, product delivery and the affiliate program. Privacy policy
• Google: email (Gmail), for messages sent to our address. Privacy policy

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

5. International transfers

These services are based in or operate from the United States and other countries, so your data may be processed outside North Macedonia, the EU and the UK. Where providers offer them, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for more information about the safeguards for a particular provider.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
• have it corrected if it's wrong, or deleted
• restrict or object to how we use it
• receive it in a portable format, where that applies
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (it doesn't affect anything done before)

Email chronosleep.app@gmail.com and we'll reply within one month. For data held by Lemon Squeezy about your purchase, you can also contact them directly.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in North Macedonia, the Agency for Personal Data Protection; in the EU or UK, the authority in the country where you live. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.

7. Children

ChronoSleep isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent us their details, email us and we'll delete them.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll make that clear on the site.
